LIFEWAY "PRESCHOOL AT HOME" CURRICULUM (scroll down for tutorial)
By the time we meet again for worship beginning Sunday, June 7, it will have been 12 Sundays since we last met together for worship on our church property. I wanted to take a moment and share some basic precautions we’ll be asking you to take once we resume meeting together.
First, I just want to remind you of something I said a few weeks back, and that is that not all of us are going to be ready to return to worship at the same time and that’s ok. If you’ve been venturing out in public, and are comfortable attending taking basic social distancing precautions, we hope you’ll join us. If you’ve been very cautious about going to public places, and aren’t comfortable attending yet, we totally understand. You’ll still be able to tune in using Facebook Live. Just go to our Facebook page and you can continue to watch online Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
If you’ve been exposed to the virus, have a temperature of 100.4 or greater, or have been feeling at all unwell in recent days, we ask that you take the extra precaution of staying home until you feel better.
When you arrive at church, please enter through the double glass doors closest to the sanctuary. Please leave the parking spaces closest to the path to the building for our older members.
When you enter the foyer, you’ll notice a couple of tables to your right. The first table has two things on it. One is a disposable mask, should you prefer to use one. They are NOT required, but the CDC does recommend them so we wanted to make some available if you need one. The second is a little cup that we will use when we partake of the Lord’s Supper together, and we ask that you go ahead and take that as you enter for worship.
The second table has resources for our children during worship. There are coloring sheets for our preschoolers and kids worship notes that will help our elementary age children stay more engaged with the service. Just take what you need. We know that being in the full service will be an adjustment for our kids but we want you to know they are more than welcome and aren't a distraction. We plan to have a little shorter than normal service times for now, in part, to accommodate our little ones.
When you enter the sanctuary, you’ll notice that every other row of seats has been blocked off. Please do not sit on these rows. We ask that you sit with members of your own household and skip at least 3 seats between those of another household. Please sit as far toward the end of each row as you can and do not climb over someone to get to your seat. Just enter from the other end of the row.
Hand sanitizer is located in the foyer and on the banister in the worship center.
We know that many of you enjoy visiting and talking after the service is over, and that’s a great thing. However, to minimize the risk of contagion, we ask that you not linger in the building after the service is over, but have those fellowship conversations outside. We plan to dismiss everyone in an orderly fashion to help preserve social distancing.
For now, we will only be meeting together for worship at the church. Other meetings will continue online as follows:
I know this has, and continues to be, an unusual and challenging time for us all. I appreciate the way you all have adapted and supported our church and its ministry these past few months and I know we’ll adapt to the changes that reopening brings too. If you’re comfortable worshipping with us Sunday, I hope to see you then. God bless!
